Opting for later calving

Calving looks a bit different at Fig Tree Park compared to our neighbours, with Jason opting for a later calving period, from mid-August onwards. Holding off and calving down later allows for the native pastures in our calving paddocks to regenerate after the peak of winter has passed, providing our females with more energy for calving. With the recent rain, fresh feed is coming through and hopefully with a bit of sunshine we will see it take off just before the bulk of the calves drop.
